From 2 to 4 February 2026, the LSIM – Laboratoire des Sciences & Ingénierie Maritimes of the University of Oran, Algerian partner of SHARE4MED, participated in the 15th edition of the Salon International des Energies Renouvelables, Energies du Futur et Développement Durable (ERA), held at the Centre de Conventions d’Oran.
ERA is one of Algeria’s leading international exhibitions and professional forums dedicated to renewable energy, energy transition, energy efficiency and sustainable development. The event gathers public authorities, research institutions, universities, companies and industry experts to discuss strategic priorities such as decarbonisation, renewable energy deployment (solar, wind, hydrogen), energy storage, circular economy models and climate adaptation policies. Alongside the exhibition area, the programme includes thematic conferences, technical sessions and networking opportunities aimed at fostering innovation and cooperation.
Within this high-level framework, LSIM contributed by presenting the Interreg NEXT MED projects SHARE4MED and GREENMEDPORTS, highlighting their role in supporting sustainable maritime and coastal governance in the Mediterranean region.
The participation was conceived as a local awareness-raising and dissemination initiative, with a strong focus on youth engagement. During the event, LSIM showcased how SHARE4MED promotes shared governance mechanisms to address coastal erosion, climate-related risks and sustainable resource management, encouraging cooperation between Mediterranean municipalities and institutions.
By taking part in the 15th ERA exhibition, LSIM strengthened the visibility of Interreg NEXT MED initiatives within a strategic energy and sustainability platform, engaging students, young researchers and local stakeholders in discussions on green transition and the future of sustainable coastal and maritime development.
