On 3d March 2006, the SHARE4MED project took part in the event “Mediterranean Pact, From Territories to Cities – The Shared Transition Agenda”, hosted at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The initiative is part of the Pact for the Mediterranean, launched in late 2025 by the European Commission with the aim of building a secure, prosperous and resilient common Mediterranean space by strengthening cooperation between the European Union and Southern Mediterranean countries. The Pact seeks to reinforce connections between territories and communities, promoting skills mobility while supporting sustainable economic growth based on green technologies and renewable energy.
Sharing best practices across the Mediterranean
During the event, the session “EU – nonEU best practices: feedback from projects and initiatives” focused on sharing experiences and achievements developed through European programmes and territorial cooperation initiatives.
The workshop brought together experts from EU and Mediterranean countries with the goal of contributing to the development of the Mediterranean Pact through a bottom-up approach, encouraging the exchange of good practices and collaboration models developed within initiatives such as LIFE, EMFAF, Interreg NEXT MED and S3 Partnership.
The contribution of the SHARE4MED project
The event also highlighted the contribution of SHARE4MED since it promotes cooperation among Mediterranean municipalities to address environmental sustainability challenges.
Participation in the event provided an important opportunity for dialogue with institutions, experts and stakeholders from across the Mediterranean region, further reinforcing SHARE4MED’s role in fostering cooperation, innovation and sustainability in marine governance.
