The promotion of the PROTECHMED project, carried out by Akdeniz University, was held at the Water Board organized by the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry on February 26, 2026. The details of the project received great interest at the meeting, which was attended by 43 different institutions and organizations.
Representatives from public institutions, universities, professional chambers, water unions, and non-governmental organizations attended the Water Board hosted by the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. In the broad-participation board, where a total of 43 different organizations were represented, the management of the region’s water resources and sustainability strategies were discussed.
Project Received with Great Interest by Stakeholders
Within the scope of the meeting, Akdeniz University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Cihan Karaca delivered a comprehensive presentation regarding the PROTECHMED project carried out within the university. Detailed information was conveyed to the participants about the technical infrastructure, implementation methods, and expected regional outcomes of the project.
Following the presentation, which was followed closely by the board members, the potential impacts of the project on water management and agricultural productivity were evaluated. While the PROTECHMED project garnered significant interest among the participating institutions, the innovative approaches offered by the project were met with appreciation.
Cooperation Plans Made for the Future Period
Following the promotional activities, meetings were held with various institutions wishing to take part in the later stages of the project and integrate its outputs into their own service areas. In this direction, strategic plans were made and cooperation grounds were established with stakeholders wishing to be involved in the implementation processes of the project.
