On 22nd April 2026, His Excellency Mr. Samir Abdelhafidh, Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning, received a group of students from the College of Europe (campus of Natolin, Poland).
The college of Europe is the oldest postgraduate institute of European studies. Every year, students from all over Europe and beyond live a multicultural learning experience before starting international careers.
During this meeting, a panel of experts from different Tunisian institutions met with a group of students to exchange on regional cooperation between Tunisia and the European Union.
Among the speakers, there was Mr. Fethi Ben Mimoun, the national contact point of the Interreg NEXT Med Programme from the Ministry of Economy and Planning and some representatives from organisations who benefit from Interreg NEXT MED funded projects.
Both the Institut National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer (INSTM) and the Mediterranean Renewable Energy Centre (MEDREC) are emblematic institutions which work hard to make cooperation happen in the Mediterranean in the field of the adaptation to climate change, energy efficiency and water management.
These testimonies are good examples to illustrate how the cooperation in the field is being implemented to find solutions to common Mediterranean challenges.
We hope that the students could grasp the essence of such transnational cooperation in the region.
