The 2nd Transnational Meeting of the SMAC Project successfully took place in Barcelona on 11–12 May 2026, bringing together all project partners under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme.
As Lead Partner, the Drama Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented the progress of the project’s second semester activities, while partners discussed upcoming actions, financial and administrative coordination, communication activities, and the next implementation steps.
A key highlight of the meeting was the first presentation of the AI-based sustainability support application developed by Democritus University of Thrace, designed to help small accommodation businesses assess their needs and support their green transition.
The meeting also included expert presentations by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the Barcelona Provincial Council on sustainable tourism management and best practices for greener destinations.
Through strong Mediterranean cooperation, the SMAC project continues to support micro, small and medium-sized accommodation enterprises in adopting sustainable, practical and competitive business models.
