As cities embrace digital transformation and innovative public services, effective communication plays a vital role in ensuring that communities understand, support and benefit from these developments. Within the SMARTMED project, communication is not only about sharing information. It is about building trust, fostering engagement and highlighting the tangible impact of innovation on citizens’ daily lives.

Rodina Alrajibi, Communication Manager at Deir Alla Municipality for the SMARTMED Project, emphasizes the importance of communication in showcasing the impact of development projects and strengthening community engagement in digital transformation initiatives.

Communicating the value of digital innovation

Reflecting on her role within SMARTMED and the project’s broader mission, Rodina Alrajibi states:

“As the Communication Manager of the SMARTMED project, I believe that the success of any project depends not only on technology and innovation, but also on our ability to effectively communicate its goals and engage the community in understanding its value.

SMARTMED provides us with a real opportunity to demonstrate how digital solutions can improve citizens’ lives through smart applications in community health and waste management, ultimately enhancing the quality of municipal services in Deir Alla.

Through collaboration with partners from Greece and Tunisia, we are exchanging knowledge, sharing experiences, and highlighting the importance of digital transformation in local communities. My role is to ensure that the project’s story, achievements, and impact are communicated clearly to stakeholders, partners, and the wider community.

I am proud to be part of a project that aims to create meaningful and sustainable impact while placing citizens’ needs at the heart of innovation.”
