The Interreg NEXT MED Programme will soon launch its third call for proposals dedicated to capitalisation projects in the sustainable tourism sector.
With a budget of €8.2 million in EU funding, the call is launched within the framework of the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM), a major coordination initiative bringing together 10 Interreg programmes. The call aims to support projects that reuse, adapt, transfer, and scale up outputs developed under these programmes, contributing to more sustainable, innovative, and inclusive tourism across the region.
The call focuses on four thematic challenges:
- Innovative and smart tourism products
- Tourism and the green transition
- Social dimension of tourism (employment and upskilling) and inclusive and accessible tourism
- Shared and strategic governance of the tourism offer
To present the opportunities offered by the call, Interreg NETX MED Programme is organising a launch event in Catania (Italy) on 1 July 2026 (9.30-17.00 – Palazzo della Regione Siciliana, Via Beato Bernardo, 5). The event is hosted by the Sicily Region, Managing Authority of the Interreg Italy–Malta and Interreg NEXT Italy–Tunisia Programmes, both of which participate in the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM).
The event will present the main features of the call and provide practical guidance on proposal preparation, with particular attention to how applicants can identify, reuse, adapt, transfer, and scale up outputs produced by other MMM programmes.
The event is addressed to organisations active in the tourism sector, including beneficiaries of Interreg NEXT MED and ENI CBC MED projects, as well as other stakeholders interested in developing capitalisation initiatives in the Mediterranean for a more sustainable, innvoateve and incusive tourism sector.
Participants are invited to register through the dedicated online form.
Join us in Catania to discover the opportunities offered by this new call for proposals and learn how successful cooperation results can be transferred and scaled up to create greater impact across the Mediterranean.
