The Interreg NEXT MED third call for proposals, dedicated to capitalisation projects on sustainable tourism, will be launched early July 2026. In the meantime, prospective applicants are invited to consult the materials already available to start preparing their project ideas.

With a budget of €8.2 million in EU funding, the call is implemented in the framework of the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM), a major coordination initiative involving 10 Interreg programmes across the Mediterranean. The call aims to support projects that transfer, adapt, test and scale up existing sustainable tourism solutions already developed through Interreg projects funded by the 10 programmes participating in the MMM.

Unlike traditional calls for proposals, applicants will be required to build their project around at least one output developed under an MMM programme other than the Interreg NEXT MED programme to which the application will be submitted. The focus is therefore on capitalisation, replication, adaption and transfer and the wider uptake of proven solutions, rather than on the creation of entirely new outputs.

The dedicated webpage provides access to key documents jointly developed by the MMM participating programmes, including:
• The Terms of Reference of the coordinated call
• The common database of sustainable tourism outputs

Please note that the full application package will be made available upon the official launch of the call. In the meantime, prospective applicants are encouraged to consult the available materials to gain a better understanding of the call’s main features and capitalisation approach.
