Youth skills in action! MIDAL Organization and Chamber of Commerce , Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon , the Lebanese partners of the HorizonCraft – Sailing towards Mediterranean expertise building Interreg NEXT MED Programme, organized the HorizonCraft National Workshop to validate the Rapid Needs Assessment of skills, bringing together Lebanese youth, SMEs, academia, TVET experts, public institutions, municipalities, and the private sector.
Following presentations about HorizonCraft project, objectives and activities by Hana Nehme Haidar and Imane Traboulsi, participants joined Youth and SMEs focus groups facilitated by training experts to identify skills gaps, labour market needs, and recommendations for training and internships. The outcomes will shape HorizonCraft’s upcoming training programs and pilot internships, while the HorizonCraft Advisory Board provided strategic guidance throughout the workshop.
HorizonCraft is an EU cooperation project funded by Interreg NEXT MED Programme, promoting youth employability through pilot internship exchanges between Beirut, Cagliari, and Alexandria.Next step will be the selection of Lebanese applicants for the training programs, youth and SMEs training programs, leading to a three-month internship in Sardinia by the end of 2026.
