A first regional webinar paves the way for learning, exchange and cooperation among young people and organisations committed to the green transition.
The YouthCARE4planet project organised its first regional webinar on 22 June 2026, bringing together more than 50 participants from youth initiatives, NGOs and civil society organisations from Egypt, Greece, Italy and Tunisia.
Organised by MIO-ECSDE in collaboration with its partners COSPE, ENACTUS, GIOSEF, Greenish and IDebate, the webinar provided a space for exchange on environmental challenges in the Mediterranean, sustainable solutions and the opportunities offered by the project to strengthen youth capacities.
Prof. Michael Scoullos, UNESCO Chair on Management and Education for Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean at the University of Athens and Chairperson of MIO-ECSDE , presented the main causes and consequences of the climate crisis, biodiversity loss and pollution risks in the Mediterranean region. His intervention also highlighted current measures and policies supporting the green transition.
Through an interactive session facilitated by Vicky Malotidi, Education Programme Officer at MIO-ECSDE, participants explored action-oriented learning approaches and reflected on how environmental knowledge can be transformed into concrete initiatives.
The webinar also highlighted concrete experiences led by young people in different Mediterranean contexts.

These experiences allowed participants to discover innovative approaches and share practices related to sustainability, social innovation and youth-led action.
The webinar also introduced the online learning platform (e-learning platform) developed within the framework of YouthCARE4planet.
Open to young people, youth organisations, NGOs and civil society organisations from partner countries — particularly Tunisia, Italy, Greece and Egypt — the platform provides resources and courses in English on environmental challenges and solutions related to the green transition.
