MEDWISE and CirBioWaste held an online technical meeting to explore cooperation on Mediterranean bio-waste management.
The MEDWISE team from BETA Technological Center (UVic-UCC) held an online meeting with representatives of CirBioWaste, an Interreg Euro-MED project coordinated by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and focusing on sustainable bio-waste management and circular economy solutions in Mediterranean territories.
Both projects address closely related challenges, including decentralised composting, improved management of the organic fraction, and the promotion of circular practices among local authorities, businesses and citizens in the Mediterranean region. This shared focus creates a solid basis for mutual learning and potential joint activities, ranging from experience exchange across pilot sites to technical dialogue on innovative solutions.
These exchanges are fully aligned with the transnational cooperation and capitalization objectives of Interreg programmes, which encourage projects to network, share methodologies and avoid duplication of efforts when addressing similar challenges from different territorial perspectives. Any future collaboration between MEDWISE and CirBioWaste will be developed in line with the rules and procedures of each programme.
Further updates on this cooperation will be shared through the project’s communication channels as the collaboration between the two projects evolves.
