Antalya Advances the Green Transition through a Gov4GreenMed Workshop

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality convened a Gov4GreenMed workshop uniting public, academic, and civil society stakeholders to advance the green transition. Discussions focused on participatory governance, circular economy approaches, and the sustainable conversion of organic waste into soil improvers. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality hosted on 30 June 2026 the “Collective Mind Workshop for the Green Transition” as part of the EU-funded Gov4GreenMed project. The event brought together representatives from public institutions, academia, civil society, and other key stakeholders to develop a shared vision for a more sustainable future.

Discussions underscored the importance of participatory governance, sustainable organic waste management, and the circular economy. Participants also examined innovative soil improver practices that can enhance soil health, boost agricultural productivity, and help combat land degradation.

The workshop’s recommendations will inform forthcoming Gov4GreenMed activities in Antalya, including a pilot initiative in Finike aimed at converting organic waste into certified soil improvers. The initiative will be complemented by training and awareness-raising programmes involving farmers, schools, and cooperatives.
