Marika Griffo (Sapienza University of Rome) and Najla Abbes (Animed) visit the Oudhna archaeological site in Tunisia with representatives of the Tunisian National Heritage Institute.
As part of the ongoing cooperation among DIEM partners, Marika Griffo from Sapienza University of Rome, Lead Partner of the project, visited the Oudhna archaeological site in Tunisia together with the ANIMED team and representatives of the Tunisian National Heritage Institute.
The visit was conducted by Nizar Ben Slimene, Conservator of the Oudhna Archaeological Site at the Institut National du Patrimoine de Tunisie, with the participation of Amina Ferjani, Heritage Conservator and Advisor at the Institut National du Patrimoine, and Najla Abbes, Project Expert at ANIMED.
The meeting offered an important opportunity to explore the archaeological site, learn more about its historical and cultural significance, and discuss its role within the DIEM project. The visit contributed to strengthening cooperation between Sapienza, ANIMED and the professionals responsible for the protection and management of Oudhna. The discussions will support the development of DIEM activities related to capacity building, inclusive Cultural Heritage education and the experimentation of innovative approaches at the project’s pilot sites.
Through direct dialogue with local heritage professionals, DIEM aims to ensure that its training activities and tools respond to the actual needs of the territories involved, while enhancing the potential of Cultural Heritage as a driver for education, inclusion and sustainable development across the Mediterranean.
