The EUSEEDS Project has been featured among the five projects funded by the Interreg NEXT MED Programme highlighted in the first Action Plan of the Pact for the Mediterranean, the strategic framework designed to strengthen cooperation between the European Union and Southern Mediterranean partner countries.
This inclusion in the Action Plan represents an important recognition of the project’s contribution to regional priorities related to youth empowerment, skills development, and inclusive growth across the Mediterranean.
The EUSEEDS Project is featured under the Pact’s first pillar ( “People, driving force for change, connections and innovations” ) which highlights initiatives focused on empowering citizens, fostering innovation, and strengthening regional cooperation. Through its activities, the project works to strengthen the connection between higher education and labour market needs, while promoting entrepreneurship, digital skills, and social inclusion among young people.
The Pact for the Mediterranean was developed through a broad and inclusive consultation process involving governments, civil society, researchers, the private sector, and Mediterranean youth. This collective effort resulted in more than 100 initiatives aimed at directly benefiting citizens and businesses across the region. The first edition of the Action Plan launches 21 concrete and innovative actions to be implemented this year.
The Pact’s initiatives are structured around three main pillars:
- People, driving force for change, connections and innovations;
- Stronger, more sustainable, and integrated economies;
- Security, preparedness and migration management.
This recognition further underlines the EUSEEDS consortium’s commitment to addressing common regional challenges and contributing to a more inclusive, connected, and opportunity-driven future for Mediterranean youth.
