The event will take place at the University of Cagliari (Italy) on 20 September 2025.
We are pleased to announce that the Director General of the Managing Authority of Interreg NEXT MED Ms. Giovanna Medde will join the roundtable “The Mediterranean at the Centre: between local interests and global dynamics (“Mediterraneo al centro: tra interessi locali e dinamiche globali”), taking place on 20 September 2025 from 9.30 am at the Aula Magna of the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Cagliari.
Organised within the PRIN (“Progetti di Ricerca di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale”) project “Italy-China 2030: meeting the ‘upgrading China knowledge in Europe’ challenge. An assessment of critical issue-areas in Sino-Italian relations and of the strategic capacity gap for responsible engagement”, the discussion will explore the Mediterranean’s evolving geopolitics and geo-economy, Sardinia’s strategic role, as well as concrete avenues for cooperation and innovation between academia and EU-funded programmes.
As part of the debate, Interreg NEXT MED will share insights on transnational cooperation, innovation for territorial cohesion, and project-driven solutions that improve the lives of Mediterranean communities.
