MEDinCHAMBERS Launches Call for a Local Expert for the Green Transition of the Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear Sector in Italy

CUEIM – University Consortium for Industrial and Managerial Economics, Lead Partner of the EU-funded MEDinCHAMBERS project, is launching a call for applications to select a Local Expert for the Green Transition of the Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear sector in Italy.

The initiative is part of a wider process taking place across all MEDinCHAMBERS partner countries, where local experts are being identified to support the development of sustainable and innovative ecosystems for the textile industry. These experts will contribute both to national activities and to the project’s broader Mediterranean cooperation framework.

Within MEDinCHAMBERS, professionals with expertise in the Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear sector play a strategic role in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in their transition towards more sustainable, circular, and competitive business models. Their contribution is essential to strengthening stakeholder engagement, fostering innovation, and promoting collaboration among businesses, research organisations, public authorities, and civil society.

Mission

The selected expert will contribute to:

  • Supporting stakeholder engagement activities involving businesses, research organisations, public authorities, and civil society actors;
  • Facilitating focus groups dedicated to the green transition of the Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear sector;
  • Strengthening regional clusters, industrial districts, innovation ecosystems, and business support networks;
  • Providing technical expertise for the design and validation of MEDinCHAMBERS services for small and medium-sized enterprises;
  • Contributing to the development of the MEDinCHAMBERS Detector and related assessment tools;
  • Identifying synergies with regional, national, and European initiatives active in sustainability and the textile sector;
  • Supporting networking, matchmaking, and knowledge-sharing activities among Mediterranean stakeholders;
  • Participating in international project events, including the MEDinCHAMBERS Bootcamp scheduled to take place in Barcelona in September 2026.

Profile Sought

Candidates should demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear value chains;
  • Circular economy and sustainable production models;
  • Environmental sustainability and eco-design;
  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA);
  • Material Flow Analysis (MFA);
  • Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and sustainability reporting;
  • Stakeholder engagement, focus groups, innovation ecosystems, and cluster development;
  • European cooperation projects and international networking activities.
