Interreg NEXT MED, together with the other nine Interreg programmes participating in the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM), is pleased to launch the Mediterranean Peer Learning Visits (MPLVs), a new initiative designed to foster cooperation, knowledge exchange and mutual learning among projects working on sustainable tourism across the Mediterranean.

The MPLVs aim to bring together partners from ongoing projects funded by the ten MMM programmes through on-site physical visits focused on sharing experiences, solutions and good practices in the field of sustainable tourism. By learning directly from successful initiatives implemented in other territories, participating projects will have the opportunity to identify approaches that can be transferred, adapted and replicated in their own contexts.

Based on a peer-learning approach, the initiative offers two complementary roles. “Givers” will host the visits and share their experience, achievements and practical solutions developed through their projects. “Takers” will participate in the visits to learn from these experiences and explore how successful approaches can be adapted and applied in their own territories.

As a mimimum requirement, partnerships should comprise at least two projects from two different Interreg Programmes and that could normally not collaborate within their respective programme.

Beyond knowledge exchange, the initiative aims to strengthen connections among projects, encourage synergies across 10 dfiffrent Interreg programmes covering 22 countries, and support the wider uptake of innovative and sustainable tourism practices throughout the Mediterranean.

Projects interested in joining the initiative are invited to apply by 3o November 2026. Whether acting as a Giver or a Taker, participants will have the opportunity to engage with peers facing similar challenges, gain new insights and contribute to building a stronger and more connected Mediterranean sustainable tourism community.

The Mediterranean Peer Learning Visits are open to partners of ongoing sustainable tourism-oriented projects funded by the following MMM programmes: Interreg NEXT MED, Interreg Euro-MED, Interreg Italy–Croatia, Interreg Italy–France Maritime, Interreg Greece–Cyprus, Interreg Italy–Malta, Interreg Italy–Tunisia, Interreg IPA ADRION, Interreg South Adriatic and Interreg Greece–Italy.
