Silvia Casas, project coordinator of the initiative led by Clínic-IDIBAPS, conducted a training session to share best practices with the other MILenARI partners and improve internal coordination and governance.

The MILenARI project (Mediterranean International Lentivirus ARI) recently organized an internal training session to define common criteria among partners and ensure consistency with the guidelines of the Interreg NEXT MED programme, of which it is part.

The session, led by researcher Silvia Casas, was mainly addressed to those responsible for financial management and reporting within each organization, but all the other partners also took part. The consortium, coordinated by Clínic-IDIBAPS, it also includes the American University of Beirut (Lebanon), the King Hussein Cancer Center (Jordan), and the Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù (Italy).

A practical approach

The training covered key aspects related to the project’s reporting, with a focus on technical aspects such as procedures, regulations, and best practices required to ensure efficient management. According to Casas, this was a “necessary” action to ensure “proper implementation and justification of funds, in accordance with the rules of the programme under which the project operates.”

The session also helped strengthen coordination and governance between partners, ensuring that all members have the tools and knowledge needed to meet the administrative and financial requirements related to project implementation.

MILenARI is funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED programme, that promotes a more competitive, inclusive, and innovative Mediterranean area. The project works to make CAR-T therapy accessible to more patients across the Mediterranean area, and it thrives under the leadership of Manel Juan, head of the Immunogenetics and Immunotherapy in the Autoinflammatory and Immune Response group at IDIBAPS.
