1. Background
UTAP, the Tunisian partner of the PROTECHMED project under the INTERREG NEXT MED
2021–2027 Programme, launches this call to select small and medium Tunisian companies
active in protected cultivation to participate in a transnational exchange visit (Inception
Camp) in Sicily, Italy, scheduled for May 2026.

2. Objective
The objective is to select Tunisian companies operating in greenhouse production and
applying sustainable agricultural practices (water, nutrient, and energy management, as
well as new technologies) to participate in a collaborative exchange platform aimed at peer
learning, knowledge sharing, and dissemination of best practices.

3. Eligibility Criteria
• Tunisian citizenship and full civil rights.
• No criminal record.
• Active in protected cultivation (soil-based, hydroponic, aquaponic, aeroponic,
agrivoltaic greenhouses).
• Implementation of sustainable agricultural practices.
• Experience collaborating with research institutes or universities.
• Experience in international cooperation initiatives (highly appreciated).
• Strong knowledge of English (for the designated participant).

4. Required Application Documents
• Legal registration documents of the company.
• Company profile (max. 1 page).
• Description of agricultural practices and technologies used (max. 2 pages).
• References related to water, nutrient, energy, and technological innovation
management.
• CV of the designated participant (including English level).
• Academic diplomas and proof of English proficiency.
• Proof of experience in cooperation projects related to protected cultivation.
• Signed application forms (Annexes 1, 2, and 3).

5. Submission Procedure
Applications must be submitted in sealed envelopes via registered mail, rapid post, or direct
deposit at UTAP’s Central Registry Office. Electronic submissions are not accepted. Late
applications will be automatically rejected.

6. Evaluation Methodology
Eligible applications will be evaluated by a committee appointed by UTAP. Selection will be
based on a 100-point scoring system covering: academic qualifications (20 points), English
proficiency (20 points), previous international cooperation experience (20 points),
integration of sustainable agricultural practices (20 points), and active engagement in
protected cultivation (20 points).

7. Additional Information
Final selection will be validated by UTAP in coordination with project partners. Travel and
participation costs will be covered under the project budget. Selected participants will be
required to engage in other project activities, including Living Labs and cluster initiatives, to
enhance collaboration and visibility.

8. Data Protection and Consent
Applicants must provide consent for personal data processing in accordance with Tunisian
law and EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). Consent for the use of photos and media
materials for project communication and dissemination purposes is required.
