The event, organised by Anysolution (Spain) on 24th April 2026, took place at Parc Bit in Palma, Balearic island, during the morning and was attended by more than 20 participants representing the quadruple helix: public administration, business, civil society, and academia.

The main objective of the session was to publicise the core objectives, activities, and expected results of CLUSTERATLAS4MED and involve participants from the outset in the co-creation activities (Rural Living Labs) that are due to be organised. This project seeks to boost the digitalisation, sustainability, and competitiveness of rural tourism in the Mediterranean region, and this task cannot be achieved without the key stakeholders.

The meeting was positively evaluated by the attendees and was defined throughout by dialogue and collaboration. The explanation of the future Rural Living Labs that are to be organised shortly generated particular interest. During the meeting, cooperation was encouraged among these groups to promote innovative solutions concerning the future of rural tourism, sustainability, and digitalisation in the region. Knowing their needs, concerns, ideas, and proposals is crucial if a useful service catalogue is to be developed for rural tourism businesses, assisting them in their digitalisation processes and allowing them to advance towards more sustainable day-to-day practices.

The final goal of the CLUSTERATLAS4MED project is to create a trans-Mediterranean metacluster that uses data to improve the competitiveness of rural SMEs. This objective will not be feasible without the collaboration and participation of local actors, because beyond the creation of innovative technological tools, the human factor must be the cornerstone that supports everything.

The day included the attendance of the Minister of Tourism of the Balearic Islands, who found the project highly interesting and offered his support and collaboration from the administration for the entire duration of the project.

As a preview of the future Rural Living Labs, working groups were organised where the main challenges that rural tourism must face regarding sustainability and digitalisation were debated.
