The report encapsulates the outcomes of a large-scale consultation process implemented by the European Commission to inform policy debates on the future of European Territorial Cooperation (Interreg).

With an unprecedented 814 proposals submitted by 5,294 organizations from 15 Mediterranean countries - requesting €1.9 billion in EU funding - the overwhelming response to the green transition call highlights the region's strong momentum for climate action and cooperation.

Held on 12th and 13th of May 2025 during Kuwait Sustainable Energy Week, the Forum gathered key regional actors to accelerate the green transition and deepen Euro–Mediterranean–Gulf cooperation. Interreg NEXT MED was actively represented, highlighting the programme’s role in promoting climate resilience, innovation, and cross-border solutions.
