Held on 12th and 13th of May 2025 during Kuwait Sustainable Energy Week, the Forum gathered key regional actors to accelerate the green transition and deepen Euro–Mediterranean–Gulf cooperation. Interreg NEXT MED joined the Interreg GO event in Gorizia (Italia)/Nova Gorica (Slovenia) on 27 March 2025, with 500+ participants & top EU representatives to discussing #Interreg’s future post-2027. Aldo Puleo from the Managing Authority contributed to the session "Cooperation: Shared Spaces, Shared Goals".

During the meeting, 60 new projects worth €134 million were approved to tackle key Mediterranean challenges through strong regional partnerships.

From January to March 2025, the Interreg NEXT MED Programme organized a series of information events across the Mediterranean area to promote the call for green transition projects. Discover a selection of pictures.

On 22 November in Almeria, Spain, Vincent Ernoux, Coordinator of the Interreg NEXT MED Branch Office for the Western Mediterranean, took part in the Sun&Blue Congress, a key event on Blue Tourism and Blue Economy. He contributed to sessions on financing opportunities and moderated a panel on best practices in blue economy projects.

From 18 to 20 November 2024, Interreg NEXT MED took part in the Arab SMEs Summit in Doha, engaging with circular economy and agro-food SMEs, presenting programme opportunities, and strengthening ties with businesses and officials from the Gulf region.

From November 12 to 17, 2024, at COP29 in Baku, Interreg NEXT MED took part in 13 events, reinforcing its contribution in advancing Mediterranean climate action on the global stage.
