NARC and ICU launch a WISEMED call to select 100 farmers in Jordan, offering technical support and participation in pilot actions on sustainable water management.
Within the framework of the WISEMED project, funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), in collaboration with the Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria (ICU), has launched a call for applications to select 100 farmers from Al-Balqa Governorate, Jordan.
The selected farmers will receive technical support and actively participate in pilot actions implemented by NARC. The initiative aims to improve agricultural practices in response to key challenges related to water scarcity, both in terms of quantity and quality, and soil degradation in the Mediterranean region.
As part of the selection process, a series of information days (“Infodays”) will take place from 30 March to 2 April 2026 in the Dead Sea area in Jordan. These sessions will present the WISEMED project, showcase innovative solutions, and highlight their benefits in terms of crop productivity, cost reduction, and environmental sustainability. The Infodays will also serve to engage farmers, collect their feedback, and promote the adoption of improved water management practices.
Following the Infodays, farmers’ responses to a survey questionnaire will form the basis for the selection process. The final selection date will be announced at a later stage.
