The Youth Innovators Entrepreneurship Launchpad for Deep Tech (YIELD) Project successfully conducted its official Virtual Info Day on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The online event drew a diverse audience of aspiring young innovators, researchers, and regional stakeholders eager to explore the project’s upcoming acceleration and business development pathways.
The information session provided a comprehensive overview of how the YIELD Project addresses pressing socio-economic and environmental challenges across the Mediterranean basin. By empowering youth aged 18 to 30, the initiative establishes a structured framework to help participants launch deep-tech micro-enterprises focused on the Blue, Green, and Circular Economy (BGCE) sectors, as well as critical eco-innovations.
During the event, the consortium detailed the project’s primary operational phases and roadmap:
- The Acceleration Phase: A joint, English-language program designed to support 50 selected transnational teams. This phase offers targeted mentoring, 10 collaborative peer networks, and hands-on workshops culminating in professional pitch-deck creation.
- The Business Development Phase: Tailored, high-level support for the top 15 teams to legally establish micro-enterprises. Benefits include specialized market-access coaching and immersive two-week Envoy Missions within established MSMEs across partner countries.
- The Specialized Curriculum: A review of the core modules led by regional expert institutions, including the Business Model Canvas (University of Ioannina), Open Innovation (KiNNO), Commercialization (Jordan University of Science and Technology), Pitching (Academy of Scientific Research and Technology), and Financing (Leaders International).
By merging scientific innovation with entrepreneurial inventiveness, the YIELD Project aims to scale eco-innovation, optimize water-energy-food (WEF) nexus management, and drive regional decarbonization. The ultimate goal remains to establish at least five sustainable deep-tech micro-enterprises within five years of the project’s completion, creating vital economic opportunities to mitigate regional youth unemployment.
