Young people are key actors in addressing climate change and advancing sustainable development across the Mediterranean. To support their engagement and strengthen their role as changemakers, the YouthCARE4planet project is organizing an online webinar on 22 June 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00 CET, bringing together youth, experts, civil society organizations, and sustainability practitioners from across the region.

Implemented by a consortium composed of COSPE (Italy, coordinator) , IDebate (Tunisia), ENACTUS (Tunisia), GIOSEF (Italy),  Greenish  (Egypt), and MIO-ECSDE (Greece), YouthCARE4planet aims to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to contribute to a greener, more sustainable Mediterranean.

A space to learn, exchange, and take action

The webinar will provide participants with the opportunity to:

  • Discover the objectives and opportunities offered by the YouthCARE4planet project;
  • Explore the main environmental challenges affecting the Mediterranean region and the green transition measures addressing them;
  • Learn from inspiring youth-led sustainability initiatives and environmental actions implemented across the region;
  • Discover the YouthCARE4planet asynchronous e-learning course and how to participate.

The programme will feature a keynote presentation by Prof. Michael Scoullos, UNESCO Chair on Management and Education for Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean at the University of Athens and Chairperson of MIO-ECSDE. Participants will gain insights into environmental challenges, sustainability policies, and practical tools that can support the green transition across the Mediterranean.

The webinar will also include an interactive session on sustainable development and youth action-oriented learning, presentations by project partners, youth initiatives, and pilot projects showcasing how young people are already contributing to environmental sustainability in their communities.

A dedicated session will introduce participants to the YouthCARE4planet e-learning course, including its content, enrollment process, and opportunities for further engagement.
