New advances on the configuration of the GREENOLIVE system during the second project meeting at CIEMAT’s solar platform in Almería
On 5 and 6 May 2026, the GREENOLIVE consortium gathered for its second face-to-face meeting, hosted by CIEMAT at its Plataforma Solar de Almería (PSA). The two-day session allowed partners to review technical progress across all work packages and to align on equipment purchasing schedules.

GREENOLIVE pilot plant takes shape as Photovoltaic installation begins
Construction of the pilot plant is now visible. One third of the photovoltaic system has been installed at the petrochemical facility in Adana, with the remaining two thirds expected to be completed within approximately two weeks.

GREENOLIVE new scientific paper: study explores microwave heating of solar salt for thermal energy storage
CIEMAT (project partner) researchers have measured the dielectric properties of solar salt at microwave frequencies. The findings provide a quantitative basis for designing volumetric heating systems for thermal energy storage, potentially overcoming the limitations of conventional resistive heating.
